Missions
• Recruitment of highly specialized human resources (professionals in clinical and basic sciences),to conduct research in topics related to infectious diseases in children
• Providing necessary facilities for researchers, academic staff, and post graduate students to develop and implement research projects
• Collaboration with national and regional health authorities in solving problems with diagnosis, prevention and management of pediatric infectious diseases, including developing vaccination strategies for primary prevention of communicable diseases
• Cooperation with national and international scientific centers to promote the health status at all socio-economic levels, and reduce pediatric mortality
• Guiding students and the academic staff in research methodology to increase the number and quality of applied researches
• Since October 2012, the center has started publication of a peer reviewed, scientific quarterly journal entitled “Archives of Pediatric Infectious Diseases” which has already been indexed in Scopus, DOAJ, Index Copernicus, SID (Scientific Information Database), IranMedex, Magiran, ISC, Open-J-Gate, Ricest, Google Scholar and Ulrichs Web.
• The center has initiated the PhD by research program since September 2012 and four PhD students are being trained at the present time.
